Don’t Talk to the Police – What to do if Suspected of a Crime

by | Apr 11, 2019 | Videos

If you’ve been charged with a crime or accused of a crime this is a very scary situation to be in. It’s natural to feel some fear. But because of that fear we’ve seen a lot of people make some very bad decisions.

We’re trying to navigate this situation so we’ve decided to give you some tips on what you should do and what you shouldn’t do.

So the first thing to consider this is probably the most important thing is that you should not talk to the police. No matter how much you’re tempted to do it. Just don’t do it.

It’s very natural to want to defend yourself and to want to clear things up for yourself but this is almost never a good idea. You have to remember that a police officer’s job is to charge people with crimes and to make arrests. Their job is not to clear things up for you. Remember, do not talk to the police.

Next thing you want to consider is that you should consult with a criminal defense attorney. These consultations are confidential and the attorney can help you understand the charges that you’re facing as well as what you should do moving forward.

And finally other than your lawyer don’t talk to anyone else about your case. No matter how much you trust that person. Just don’t do it.

So, if you’ve been charged with a crime or men accused of a crime consider these three things:

One, don’t talk to the police.

Two, consult with a criminal defense attorney.

And three, don’t talk to anyone else about your case.
